I work with ultrathin materials made from just a few layers of atoms, such as graphene. By stacking and twisting these layers with extreme precision, we can engineer new quantum materials where electrons behave in remarkable ways. My group develops the advanced fabrication tools needed to build these structures one atomic layer at a time, and we use the world-leading high-magnetic-field facilities at HFML-FELIX to reveal their quantum phases. Our goal is to understand and control these exotic electronic states, paving the way for future quantum technologies and ultra-efficient electronics.
