As a research officer at HFML-FELIX, I develop and maintain laboratory infrastructure and equipment, while at the same time performing experiments to investigate the properties of materials under high magnetic fields. One of these projects was the development of a digital lock-in that is based around a CompactRIO. A digital lock-in has the benefit that it can simultaneously measure a large number of channels and allows the user to post-process the raw data.
