Twice a year, researchers and companies can apply for either magnet time, FEL beam time or a combination thereof. If you are granted access, you can use the installation and all available auxiliary equipment.
Research is conducted free of charge and guest researchers can receive support from our scientific and technical staff. Our secretariat can help with local arrangements (accommodation, visa, travel, etc.). In exchange, all obtained results will be made available to the public in the open-access scientific literature and presented at scientific conferences and meetings.
The deadlines for submitting a proposal are 15 May and 15 November.
HFML-FELIX currently has three completely furnished guest houses which we appoint to users, based on availability. Two of these guest houses are situated on campus, near our laboratory. The other, larger one is located near the city centre, alongside the river (Waalkade).
The two campus guest houses are part of the Sterrenbosch complex on Platolaan, a two-minute walk from HFML-FELIX. Each house has one bedroom with two separate beds and a foldup bed in the living room. It can accommodate three people. On the campus map: HFML-FELIX is nr. 22, Sterrenbosch is nr. 16.
A daily fee will be requested for the apartments. For one person this is € 45 per night. The second (or third) person in the apartment will be charged € 25 per person per night. Cleaning costs are € 45 per apartment per stay. The invoice will be sent to the Principle Investigator on site. If you have any questions, please contact the secretariat at HFML-FELIX@ru.nl. Users from the UK, the country that is a members of EMFL, will be reimbursed for the costs of accommodation and traveling.
Please note: the day of change is Wednesday. On the departure day, make sure you leave the apartment before 10 am.
The city guest house near Nijmegen centre has three separate bedrooms in a large apartment on Steenstraat, next to the Waalkade and two minutes from the city centre.
