Dr. Piero Ferrari

  • Research Officer

My research focuses on the use of infrared spectroscopy to study gas-phase molecules and small clusters, combining molecular beam experiments with quantum chemical calculations. My main current interests are:

  • De-excitation mechanisms of isolated clusters and molecules
  • Astrochemistry in the interstellar medium
  • Reactivity and catalytic activity of mono- and bi-metallic clusters
  • Chemical reactions in neutral organocatalysts
  • The interaction and dynamics of weakly bound complexes
